LAHORE: A 35-year-old woman was found dead in the River Ravi in Shandara on Sunday. A bystander spotted the body floating in the river and alerted police. A Civil Defence team reached the scene upon information of the incident and moved the body to a morgue for an autopsy. They also collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements from witnesses. The victims bore marks of torture on her body and initial investigations and circumstantial evidence suggested that the victim was subjected to torture before her death and the suspects dumped her body into the river.
