HARIPUR: A married woman was found dead in the underground water tank of her house in an urban locality of Ghazi tehsil, the police said here on Sunday.
Ghazi police station officials quoted Mohammad Abrar of Model Village Isa as saying that he had married Mahnoor Bibi, 25, about six years ago, and they had two minor daughters and a son.
The complainant told the police that on Sunday morning when he came home from the market he found his wife missing and informed the local police when the family failed to find any clue to her despite hectic search.
According to the complainant,in the afternoon when he went to his under-construction house nearby he spotted the Mahnoor’s body floating in the underground water tank, which was constructed for storing water.
He said that his family members and rescue workers shifted the body to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Ghazi, where the doctors, who carried out autopsy on her body, said that victim’s throat was slit, which caused her death.
The police have registered a criminal case against unknown accused on the complaint of the woman’s husband.
