TOBA TEK SINGH: The Satianapolice(Faisalabad) on Monday rescued an underage bride, who had been married off two weeks ago at Chak 434-GB.
As per the first information report (FIR) registered under sections 4, 5, and 6 of The Child Marriage Restraint Act 1929, along with section 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), complainant Khurram Saif (Jhokay Ditta police post in-charge) said he had received information regarding the marriage of 10-year-old Maskan to a man, Ismail Jatoi, with the consent of her parents.
Moulvi Javed Iqbal had solemnised the nikah.
Saif said someone informed the police that the groom was holding the girl against her will.
Consequently, a police team conducted a raid and rescued the girl. Police have arrested groom Ismail and are raiding to arrest the nikahkhwan and parents of the girl. Correspondent
