KASUR: Three members of a Hindu family were found dead under mysterious circumstances while one was hospitalised at village Qadiwind on Saturday.
The incident happened in the limits of Saddar Police Station.
The family of Karpal Das (50) had come to district Kasur from Jacobabad, Sindh, to visit his friend.
According to police, Das, along with his sons Sunny Kumar (28), Satish Kumar (20) and nephew Vishal Kumar, had come to visit his friend, Muhammad Ibrahim, at village Qadiwind, 15km from the city.
Saddar police said the family members went to their beds on Friday night after having dinner. Their host, Ibrahim,had put burning coals in the room to make it warm. On Saturday morning, he found Das, Sunny and Vishal dead while Satish was unconscious.
Rescue 1122 shifted Satish to hospital where he was stated to be stable.
Police reached the crime scene and collected evidence. They shifted the bodies to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of deaths.
Police said the cause would be determined af ter chemical analysis of the samples obtained from the bodies of the deceased and the samples had been sent to Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA).
However, they apprehended that the incident might have occurred due to burning coal or food poisoning.
