BATTAGRAM: The police on Sunday claimed to have arrested three brothers for killing their sister for honour a month ago.
An official said a month ago the police had received information that body of a woman was lying in a house in Peshora village in the limits of Chanjal police station.
He said the police recovered body of a woman, who was later identified as a resident of Chakesar area of Shangla district. The official said she was killed by cutting her throat in the house of her brother-in-law, where she had gone two days before her killing along with her six-month-old daughter. He said her brother-in-law and his wife had escaped from the house.
The official said the police also recovered a knife and clothes with blood stains. He said police lodged FIR against the victim’s brother-in-law and his wife and later arrested them, who during investigation revealed three brothers of the deceased woman had killed their sister for marrying with a man against the family’s permission one and a half years ago.
The official said the police arrested the three brothers, adding husband of the deceased woman was also traced, who told the police he had left the area out of fear he would also be killed by his wife’s family.
The official said a complaint had been lodged against the man in Shangla for abducting the woman and compelling her to marry against her own will.
