Steps sought to promote Islamic banking – 13 Nov 2022

SWABI: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader Mufti Kifayatullah has welcomed the announcement by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to withdraw an appeal against Federal Shariat Court verdict and work for implementation of interest-free financial and banking system in the country.

Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, he said that the interest-based system was like a poison for the national economy. He said that it was necessary to take practical measures by forming a committee consisting of economists and religious scholars for the success of Islamic banking in the country.

He said that the government should review the transgender act according to the recommendations of the Council of Islamic Ideology.

Mufti Kifayatullah said that they would not tolerate westernisation of the society and asked leaders of political parties to play their due role in this regard.

GOVT CRITICISED: Paramedical Association, Swabi, district president Fazal Hakim here on Saturday criticised the government for its decision to sack the EPI technicians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a meeting, he said that these employees should be reinstated and their pending salaries paid to them immediately.
