This seminar was set against the CDPR’s mandate of conducting training of Nikah Registrars and collecting data pre and post trainings and preparing recommendations for protection of women rights in marriages. Ms.Kate briefed about their training results and Mr.Sohail Warriach discussed the contents of Nikahnama/effects of blank columns or wrongly filled nikahnamas. After explaining the role of AGHS, Alia Malik recommended that there should be a column in Nikahnama or a privision in law that all the property or monetory benefits gained during subsistence of marriage should be devided equally between the spouses at the time of divorce/khula. AGHS also offered to facilitate any session regarding the marriage laws as they have an expertise on the matter and have a long standing and expereince with women clients.
