Missing mentally challenged girl found dead


KASUR: The body of a 17-year-old mentally challenged girl was found in the fields near Habibabad village on Sunday.

The girl, Aqsa Riaz, had gone missing four days back.

Pattoki Police recovered the body, which was later identified as that of Aqsa.

According to the police, Muhammad Riaz, the father of the deceased, refused legal action. Riaz told the police that Aqsa fell down in the field. She could not stand up and died due to cold weather.

Police are looking into the matter.

FIRING: Unidentified robbers opened fire at an ambulance near village Kacha Pakka on the Depalpur Road in the limits of the Khudian Police Station.

According to police, two unidentified robbers intercepted the ambulance that was on its way back to Allahabad after dropping a patient at the district headquarters hospital.

Two unidentified robbers near village Kacha Paka signalled the ambulance driver, Mudasar Ali, to stop but he did not stop the vehicle. One of the robbers opened indiscriminate fire at the vehicle, leaving the windscreen damaged. The driver and helper, however, remained unhurt.

Earlier, the robbers robbed various motorists, including a bus carrying wedding guests in Depalpur.
