Man stabbed to death over `honour`


KARACHI: A man was killed over so-called `honour` in Defence Housing Authority late on Saturday night, police said on Sunday.

They added that Sardar Mohammed, 41, was stabbed to death near the Noor Hanif mosque in Phase VIII on Sahil Avenue.

The police arrested a suspect, Zubair Gul, and recovered a knife allegedly used in the murder.

Both the suspect and the victim were friends. During initial investigation, it transpired that the suspect had `suspicions` that his friend had `illicit` relations with his wife, said South DIG Syed Asad Raza.

He said they also had a monetary dispute.

The police were further investigating the case.

The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Cop found murdered A police constable was found murdered in the Malir area, police said on Sunday.

The body of Constable Khalid Naseem, with slit throat, was found at a desolate place within the remit of the Malir City police station. He was not in police uniform.

His family informed investigators that he had left home along with a friend on Saturday.

Police were investigating the case.
