Man kills wife, mother-in-law over property dispute – 06 Apr 2023
OKARA: A man shot dead his wife and motherin-law over a property dispute here on Tuesday at village 23/D near Shergarh.
According to FIR, Muhammad Arshad had married Abida five years back and the couple had three children. Arshad`s wife and mother Ashran Bibi owned a small piece of agricultural land and some cattle. Arshad and his father used to pressurise them to sell the property to which the woman and her mother did not agree.
On Tuesday, Arshad along with village man Riaz riding a motorcycle came to the fields where Abida with her aunt Kaneez was working.
Arshad shot his wife dead and rushed towards the house where he killed his elderly motherin-law and managed his escape.
District Police Officer Mansoor Aman took notice of the double murder case and formed a team to arrest the suspect.
On the report of Kaneez Bibi, Shergarh police have registered a case against Arshad and his accomplice Riaz under sections 302 and 34 of PPC. The policeclaimed to have nabbed Arshad.
ROBBER KILLED: A suspected robber was killed in firing by his two accomplices in a `shootout` near Kot Bari on Tuesday night.
As per first information report, a Saddar police team, headed by the station house officer, were present near Kot Bari beside Lower Bari Doaab Canal when they received a wireless message that three armed suspects on a motorcycle after looting a man were heading toward Faisalabad Road.
The team chased the suspects and on seeing the police the suspects opened fire near village 24/GD. After a `shootout`, the police found an injured suspect in a wheat field who succumbed to his injuries on way to DHQ hospital.
The police recovered a weapon with live bullets, a cell phone and an unregistered motorcycle from the scene.
On the report of SHO Muhammad Arshad, Saddar police have registered a case against three suspects under sections 302, 353, 324, 186 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code and section 13/20/1965 along with section 2 (a) of the Punjab Arms Amendment Ordinance 2015.
