Victim had inherited farm which she used to cultivate herself
A man allegedly killed his aunt over a land dispute, while in another incident a ninth grade student was shot dead by unknown people.
Police seized the bodies and handed them over to their heirs after necessary action.
Muhammad Nawaz, a resident of Chak No. 66 RB, told the police that he was married to Rani Bibi 21 years ago, and they had had a daughter two years after the marriage. However, their baby died three days after her birth.
Muhammad Nawaz told the police that he married Shahida Bibi 16 years ago. Both of his wives lived separately. His first wife Rani Bibi had only one brother, Liaquat Ali, who died eight years ago, and he had had no children. His family inherited land in the name of Rani Bibi who used to cultivate the land herself.
The complainant said that Abid Hussain, son of his younger brother Riaz Ahmed, used to quarrel with his aunt Rani Bibi over the share of land.
Due to this dispute, the accused, Abid Hussain, wanted to get the land by force, which Muhammad Nawaz’s wife was not willing to give him, due to which he injured Rani Bibi by firing at her with a 12-bore repeater. Rani Bibi died on the spot.
In another incident, 14-year-old Ihsan, a student of ninth grade, was shot dead by unknown people. OUR CORRESPONDENT
