LAHORE: A man was arrested for attempting to rape a 12-year-old girl in the Chuhng area Thursday. The arrested suspect was identified as Mobeen, the victim’s neighbour. The suspect after finding her alone took the victim to rooftop where he attempted rape. When the victim’s mother went to the roof in search of her, he abandoned the victim and fled. Police on complaint arrested the suspect and registered a case against him.
Body found: A tortured body of a 26-year-old youth was recovered from Saifan Road, Manawan, Thursday. The body, yet to be identified, bore marks of torture. Circumstantial evidences implied that some unidentified persons had killed the victim by subjecting him to severe torture. Edhi volunteers shifted the body to the mortuary.
