Harassment suspects sent on judicial remand


DERA GHAZI KHAN: A teacher and a local journalist, who are accused of blackmailing a student for sexual harassment, were sent to jail on judicial remand after their three-day physical remand was completed.

The court denied police`s request for an extension of physical remand and instead granted judicial remand.

On the other hand, thetwo teachers who were accused of raping their female student at private place were already on interim bail until Aug 25.

Also, the Higher Education Department, south Punjab, has formed an inquiry committee responding written complaint (by the resigned 19 professors) comprising the 17 points allegations against the pro vice-chancellor of a local public university.

The committee has initiated its proceedings.
