Girl ‘raped’ in capital


ISLAMABAD: A teenage girl from Lahore was allegedly raped by two suspects, police said on Monday.

A case was registered with Shalimar police station against the two persons under section 375-A of PPC in response to a complaint lodged by the victim’s father.

According to the FIR, the complainant said that an old acquaintance of his had told him that he could arrange work for his daughter in the house of a foreigner in Islamabad.

The man asked the complainant to send his daughter to Islamabad first and they would settle other matters later, the FIR said, adding that on Feb 2, the man brought the complainant’s 18-year-old daughter to the capital and handed her over to his acquaintance. The acquaintance then took the girl to the foreigner’s house in E-11/4 where she was allegedly raped by the two persons. They also threatened her of dire consequences.

The girl was later sent back to the man who had brought her to Islamabad, the FIR said, adding that the man then contacted the victim’s father.

When the complainant reached Islamabad, the man handed over the girl to her father at Chungi No 26 and himself left for Lahore. According to the FIR, the girl narrated the incident to him after which they went to the police station and lodged a complaint for registration of the case.

When contacted, the public relations officer for the police confirmed that one of the suspects was a Chinese national. The police arrested the two suspects and efforts were being made to trace and arrest the third person, he added.
