A lady doctor, her son and two daughters had been shot dead at night in their house in Kahna. The victim, Naheed Mubarak, 45, had set up a clinic at her house at LDA Avenue. Initial police investigations suggested that the victims were murdered at night and the killer was an acquaintance of the family. Investigators said the police had spotted a grey car being parked outside the house at 12:47am.
A person had stepped out of the vehicle and went into the house, after which the car stayed there for about two hours. Police had said they had been analysing the CCTV footage and Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras to identify the suspect.
A neighbor, who had gone to the house to turn on a water pump early in the morning, found the family members dead. He reported the matter to the police on the emergency helpline. The police took the bodies to a hospital for postmortem.
